Growth mind was developed by Carol Dweck in her classic research about how students react to failure or success. It revolves around the notion that intelligence, abilities, performance and learning outcomes can be improved only when feedbacks are received positively. It also entails accepting changes that come as life goes on, learning from these changes and implementing them whenever similar scenarios or situations come up in any of your life endeavours.

Fixed mindset, which is the opposite of growth mindset, refers to a static, unchanging, negative, erroneous, etc, believe that one cannot attain or go more than his/her “personal or biological” limits and any attempt to go beyond these limits will always be met by a blocker(s).

A person’s mindset can change from fixed to growth, and when that happens, it leads to increased motivation and achievement.

In other to inculcate a growth mindset, we should always have a positive vibe about whatever we want to accomplish. Being assertive and hoping to learn positively no matter the outcome of that learning objective is also a culture to inculcate in other to have a growth mindset. Learning new things can be frustrating, intimidating, exhausting and overwhelming, but having the belief that you can do it and working towards your goals and expectation can make learning exciting and enjoyable.

I have demonstrated a growth mindset in so many occasions especially in my path of becoming a software developer. I started writing codes out of curiosity to know what and how computer applications function. As I keep going deep into the act, I keep on discovering new concept and technologies that are sophisticated and intimidating which can be very scaring. But with all these sophistications, I still doggedly tackle them learning through the process, crossing the hurdles, being consistent and believing that I can learn them, I can know them and I can be a master in the craft of software development. All these can be said to be the features of a growth mindset, which entails accepting changes that come as life goes on, learning from these changes and implementing them whenever similar scenarios/situations come up in any of your life endeavours.
